AY 2021 IB DP class (Mr. Mesich)
In the fall of 2021, I took an International Baccalaureate course with Mr. Mesich. He has a lot of school experience and is the principal of an international school.
Mr. Mesich is a school management and leadership researcher and using a multi-layered conceptual framework of Japanese culture, which provided important insights for my research.
Besides that, I got a lot of inspiration from this class. This website was originally created as a portfolio of that class.

Venn Diagram Analysis
Personally I don't want to emphasize the differences between MYP and Japan's ordinary middle school. They look different, of course. However MYP and Japanese Course of study (CoS) are based on different paradigm and we can't compare these 2 simply. Japanese course of study is a group of curriculum and MYP is a big question for curriculum, teacher and students. Extremely saying, I believe every single Japanese ordinary middle school can be MYP potentially.

Today I learned about the theory of service-learning and understanding the four types would be very helpful for my own facilitation.
I would like to think about how the concept of "not profit pursuit oriented" is reflected in my school.
Also, as a classroom teacher, I would like to encourage advocacy-type and research-type outputs to my students.
